Club Honours
We are proud and delighted to announce that our Club history and honours board is now LIVE.
This has been a labour of love which started as part of our 125th anniversary celebrations and has been led by Club historian Robert Cuthbertson and tracks our incredible history.
Opening with reflections from President Dan Scroop and Past President Jill O’Neil, the document goes on to explore our history and founders and the early years of the club, before providing a definitive summary of Club records and celebrating our Olympians and participants in the European Games, British Empire Games and Commonwealth Games through the years, including Ming Campbell and the late Les Piggot.
Elsewhere the document then goes on to record all Scottish and British records held by our members, detailing all international, team and athletes honours before a complete history of our annual prizewinners.
It’s an incredible body of work and is a fascinating read. And with no fewer than a dozen Club records smashed since the document was started in early 2023 it’s been just an achievement keeping one step ahead of our athletes who keep rewriting the record books.
A huge thanks to you Robert and your army of helpers and checkers. We are so lucky to have this record and it’s a fantastic legacy to inspire the next generation of Garscube athletes.
